My grandfather was a great man. His name was T.M. Ramachandran (TMR). In his lifetime he accomplished many things. He was publisher of two magazines and I believe they were called Filmworld and Cinema India International (or maybe this was his company name). He also wrote a book, "70 years of Indian Cinema", which can be found in several libraries and also on amazon for purchase. I'm not certain if its in print anymore but it would be nice if it was. ISBN 0-86132-090-5. 70 Years of Indian Cinema Either way, my mom and uncle usually don't talk about his achievements because so much time has passed and usually we tend to forget things that are no longer around us. Recently, my mom looked online and found these links to his work and I thought about his accomplishments. As a boy, It never occurred to me that my grandfather was an author, magazine editor, and writer. But now, I sit back and think about what a great accomplishment that is. He passed in 1991, when I was 12, and in 1992, we left India and came to the US. We've been prosperous for the most part with a few bumps every now and then but thats just the way life goes. After looking through what my mom dug up on the internet, I thought about his accomplishments and I'm glad I was reminded about them. I hope someday I can be as great a man as he was.
